đź“„ New Publication from UniversitĂ  Politecnica delle Marche

We are pleased to announce that our partners at UniversitĂ  Politecnica delle Marche have published a new peer-reviewed article closely aligned with the objectives of the HURRICANE Project.

About the Study:
– Systematic literature review on industrial symbiosis in the steel industry is responsible for ~7% of global GHG emissions;
Iron and steel residues (blast furnace slag, EAF dust) show proven cross-sectoral value in cement and construction, with significant COâ‚‚ and cost reductions;
– Emerging applications in wastewater treatment and carbon capture are identified;
– Scaling requires targeted regulatory frameworks, digital technologies, and LCA-integrated techno-economic modelling;
– This contribution advances the scientific foundation for inter-industry resource optimisation is a core pillar of the HURRICANE project’s mission.

We congratulate the authors on this valuable addition to the field.
